LAST TWO STOPS...

OUR THIRD STOP WAS COUNTRY SAMPLER QUILT
SHOP IN SPRING GREEN, WI.
CLICK ON NAME OF SHOP TO GO TO THEIR
WEBSITE. THIS VIEW IS AS YOU COME IN THE
DOOR LOOKING TO THE BACK OF THE SHOP.
IT'S NOT A LARGE SHOP BUT OH THE WONDER
OF IT ALL!

THERE ARE SO MANY SAMPLER AND QUILT
SAMPLES DONE UP IT'S JUST PLAIN OVER~
WHELMING! YOU WANT TO JUST DO IT ALL
AND THERE IS NO WAY!!! I TRIED TO STICK
TO MY LIST SO IT WAS EASIER FOR ME BUT
I DID BUY A COUPLE OF THINGS NOT ON IT
BECAUSE SOME OF WHAT I HAD ON MY LIST
WAS NOT AVAILABLE. YOU COULD SPEND A
SMALL FORTUNE IN THIS SHOP! IT'S SO
WONDERFUL AND THE COLORS IN THE SHOP
ARE THE BEST.

SOME COTTON PRINTS AND A PILE OF
LINEN FOR CROSS STITCHING. PATTERNS ARE
EVERYWHERE!

DISPLAY AS YOU ENTER

I BOUGHT THESE X~STITCH PATTERNS BY
VARIOUS ARTISTS. THE ONE ON THE BOTTOM
IS A KIT SO I HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED TO GET
STITCHING. DON'T KNOW WHEN I'LL GET TO IT
THOUGH. TOO BUSY MAKING THINGS FOR MY
UPDATE RIGHT NOW.

MORE PURCHASES FROM COUNTRY SAMPLER.
LINEN FOR X~STITCHING ON THE RIGHT AND SOME
NEAT WIDE GOLD RICK RACK. SOME COTTON PRINTS
AND A HOMESPUN AND TWO BALLS OF VALDANI
PEARL COTTON FOR NEEDLE PUNCHING ON
THE LEFT.

ABOVE ITEMS ARE FROM PRIMITIVE GATHERINGS QUILT SHOP.
 SOME PIECES OF OVER~DYED PUMPKIN
WOOLS FOR MY LITTLE PUMPKIN RUNNER AND ON
THE LEFT SOME HOMESPUNS IN ORANGES AND A TINY
COTTON PRINT ALONG WITH SOME NEUTRAL VALDANI
PEARL COTTONS FOR NEEDLE PUNCHING.

BY THE TIME WE LEFT COUNTRY SAMPLER ON
SATURDAY WE HAD JUST ENOUGH TIME TO
DRIVE UP TO MENASHA, WI  TO PRIMITIVE GATHERINGS
QUILT SHOP.  WE KNEW THEY CLOSED AT FOUR
AND GOT THERE AT THREE! BOY, DID WE DO SOME
POWER SHOPPING!! BUT BY THEN WE DIDN'T HAVE TOO
MUCH LEFT ON OUR LISTS AND IT WORKED OUT
PERFECTLY. I HAD A FILLED PUNCH CARD TO USE
WHICH MEANT I GOT $20. OFF MY PURCHASE.
WE THOUGHT WE MIGHT SPEND THE NIGHT IN THIS
AREA BUT BY THE TIME WE FINISHED AT
PRIMITIVE GATHERINGS AND HAD A BITE TO EAT
WE DECIDED TO JUST HEAD FOR HOME WHICH
IS A 2~1/2 HOUR DRIVE. I GOT HOME ABOUT
8 PM AFTER I DROPPED KATHY OFF AT HER HOUSE.
ALL IN ALL IT WAS A WONDERFUL LONG
AWAITED TRIP WITH A DEAR FRIEND. I THINK
THIS MIGHT BE AN ANNUAL EVENT!

HOPE YOU ENJOYED TRAVELING ALONG WITH
US ON OUR LITTLE JAUNT. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE
NEXT TRIP WHICH WILL BE TO LOWER MI FOR
THE HARVEST AT THE MILL SHOW IN HOLLY A WEEK
FROM THIS SATURDAY.
LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING OLD FRIENDS AND
MEETING NEW FRIENDS. SEE YOU ALL SOON!

UNTIL NEXT TIME....LORI

NEXT STOP....LODI, WISCONSIN

OUR SECOND STOP ON FRIDAY WAS
CLICK ON THEIR NAME FOR A DIRECT LINK
TO THE SHOPS SITE. IT HAD BEEN A FEW YEARS
SINCE I HAD BEEN TO THIS SHOP AND IT'S BEEN
ENLARGED SINCE I WAS THERE.
IT'S A WONDERFUL SHOP FULL OF GOODS FOR
DECORATING AND FOR RUG HOOKING.

HERE IS THE RUG HOOKING CORNER.
LOTS OF WOOL AND PATTERNS TO LOOK AT.

MORE WOOL. YUM!

THIS COOL HORSE WEATHER VANE LOOKING
PIECE IS FOR SALE IN THE SHOP AND WAS
MADE BY SOMEONE THAT WORKS IN THE
SHOP. IT IS HOOKED IN VERY WIDE CUTS.
VERY NEAT PIECE.

THIS PRETTY VIEW IS UP THE STREET FROM
THE SHOP. A QUAINT LITTLE TOWN.

THESE ARE SOME WOVENS I BOUGHT THERE.
THE BROWNS ARE SCRAP PIECES SOLD IN A
BUNDLE THAT WILL BE GOOD FOR DIFFERENT
PROJECTS. SOME CUTE PILLOWS AND SUCH.
ON THE FAR RIGHT IS A HAND WOVEN HAND
TOWEL THAT I HAVE USED IN THE PAST TO
MAKE HOOKED PILLOWS. THIS ONE HAS A NICE
FALL HUE TO IT SO I AM THINKING ABOUT
HOOKING ANOTHER PILLOW OR TWO IF I CUT
IT IN HALF AND USE SOMETHING ELSE FOR THE
BACKING. SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.

I FOUND A FEW PIECES OF WOOL TO BRING HOME
FOR DIFFERENT RUG PROJECTS. AND THE 2014
PURE AND SIMPLE CALENDAR. I GET ONE
EACH YEAR AND LOVE IT.

THAT'S IT FOR TODAY. I HAVE MORE TO SHOW
FROM OUR TRIP SO COME BACK AND CHECK AGAIN
MAYBE TOMORROW.
UNTIL THEN....LORI

I WAS THRILLED THEY HAD ONE IN STOCK.
IT WILL BE FUN TO HOOK UP.

A FALL RUG

THIS WONDERFUL FALL RUG PATTERN WAS
GIFTED TO ME BY FELLOW RUG HOOKER
TOM McNERNEY ABOUT A YEAR AGO.
I FINALLY GOT IT HOOKED TO
ENJOY IN MY FALL DECOR THIS YEAR.
I DID A COLOR PALETTE THAT WILL GO
WITH THE FRIENDS HOUSE QUILT I MADE
RECENTLY. I THINK THEY WILL LOOK NICE
TOGETHER. THANK YOU TOM!

THIS IS TOM AT THE APRIL 2012 CAMP WOOL
HOOK~IN AT THE COASTAL HOUSE IN
WELLS, MAINE WHERE HE AND HIS
RUGS WERE FEATURED. YOU CAN SEE TOM
USES ANIMALS AND NATURE FOR HIS
RUG INSPIRATION. HE ALSO USES VERY WIDE
CUTS THAT HE HAND CUTS. HIS RUGS HAVE A
PRIMITIVE, FOLKY AND HOMEY APPEAL.
I LOVE HIS STYLE OF RUG DESIGNS.
TOM ALSO TEACHES.

I'M CURRENTLY WORKING ON SOME FALL
OFFERINGS FOR SOME TIME IN SEPT.
MORE ON THAT LATER.

UNTIL NEXT TIME....LORI

HOW BLESSED I AM!

ZOE & I WENT FOR THE DAY TO VISIT MY AUNT WHO
LIVES A TWO HOURS DRIVE FROM ME THIS PAST
TUES. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME THERE WAS
A GOODIE BOX WAITING FOR ME FROM
MY FRIEND PAM. SHE SENT ME BELATED
B~DAY GIFTS. WHAT FUN! SHE EVEN SENT
A TREAT FOR MISS ZOE.
AMONG THE GIFTS WERE A BEAUTIFUL
X~STITCH PINKEEP SHE STITCHED ( I DON'T
KNOW WHO THE DESIGNER OF THE PATTERN IS),
A JAR WITH TWO PIECES OF FABRIC (THE JAR
HAS A NEAT PAPER LABEL), A NEEDLE
MINDER, AND A TABLET WITH AN ANGEL AT THE TOP.
THE SWEET LITTLE ~FRIENDS~ CARD IS PRECIOUS TOO!

THE TWO FABRICS IN THE JAR ARE THIS OLD
BRANNOCK/PATEK COTTON PRINT WITH MOONS
AND A PIECE OF REBECCA ERB WOOL.
I DIDN'T HAVE EITHER ONE IN MY STASHES SO
THEY ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

HERE IS A CLOSE UP OF MY PINKEEP.
I ADORE IT! THANK YOU PAM FOR YOUR
SWEET FRIENDSHIP AND WONDERFUL
GOODIES. LOVE YOU MY FRIEND.

UNTIL NEXT TIME....LORI
