SAMPLER FINISHED

FINALLY FINISHED THE SAMPLER I WAS DOING.
YOU MAY REMEMBER I HAD AN OLD FRAME I
WANTED TO USE SO I MADE THE UP MY OWN PATTERN
AS I WENT ALONG TO FIT THE FRAME.
IT'S VERY PLAIN AND SIMPLE BUT I DO LOVE THAT
ABOUT IT. I USED CHESTNUT LINEN BY WEEKS DYE WORKS
AND DMC DARK BROWN 3371 FLOSS.
I DID SEVERAL ALPHABETS AND NUMBERS.
I DECIDED TO USE MY MOTHERS MAIDEN
NAME WHICH WAS JUNE CLARK.
TO MAKE IT SOUND MORE EARLY I STITCHED
JUNIE FOR HER FIRST NAME. I ALSO USED
HER DATE OF BIRTH MAKING THE YEAR MINUS
A HUNDRED YEARS AND THE STATE SHE GREW UP
IN. TO END I FILLED IN WITH HER FAMILIES INITIALS.

HOPE ALL ARE WELL THAT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED
BY THE STORMS.

NEXT I WILL BE HOOKING A HORSE RUG INSPIRED
BY TWO ANTIQUE RUGS. I HAVE IT READY TO GO
SO CHECK BACK SOON TO SEE MY PROGRESS.

UNTIL NEXT TIME....LORI

Oh my goodness, Lori! Your stitching is so amazing. Every time I see a sampler you've done, I want to do one myself.... then I look at my blank cross stitch backing and think, "I think I'll visit Lori's blog, instead!".

Thank you for sharing your wonderful, inspiring talent ~ can't wait to see the horse rug!

Lori, your sampler is wonderful! It looks so old! Did you chart it out before or just pick up the needle and go? Fantastic job!

Melinda,
The first three alphabets and first set of numbers were from the Lillian Kaup sampler pattern by Forget Me Nots In Stitches. The last alphabet and second set of numbers was from Alphabets From Early Samplers by Marsha Van Valin.
