WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...

SORRY I HAVEN'T POSTED IN A WHILE. THE DAYS
SLIP BY AND BY EVENING I'M PRETTY TIRED.
BRIAN IS DOING VERY WELL. HE IS TAKING IT SLOW.
WE GO BACK TO MARSHFIELD FOR HIS FOLLOW UP
ON EVERYTHING IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS.
HE HAD HIS LAST IRON TREATMENT THIS MORNING.
KATHY IS DOING WELL ALSO. I TALK TO HER MOST
EVERY DAY. WE DO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY
CONTINUED PRAYERS.

THIS IS THE END OF OUR LITTLE HOUSE. THERE
WAS A BALCONY OVER THE GARAGE DOORS.
THERE WERE THICK WOODEN BEAMS THAT CAME
OUT OF THE HOUSE BUT OVER TIME ( THE HOUSE WAS
BUILT IN 1973) THEY HAD ROTTED. WE HAD TO DO
SOMETHING. BRIAN WAS AFRAID THE WHOLE THING
WOULD COME DOWN ON TOP OF US WHEN PULLING
IN OR OUT OF THE GARAGE. SO WE HAD OUR NEIGHBOR
JOE COME OVER AND HE RIPPED OFF THE OLD ONE AND
WILL BUILD US A NEW BALCONY. IT WILL COME OUT JUST
A BIT FURTHER THAN THE OLD ONE AND BE SUPPORTED
BY THICK POSTS. HE WILL PUT A BIG BOARD ACROSS
THE HOLES OF THE OLD BEAMS TO SUPPORT THE
BALCONY. HE FILLED THE HOLES WITH CEMENT THE OTHER
DAY. THE SLIDING DOOR GOES TO OUR LIVING ROOM.
THE WINDOW ON THE LEFT IS OUR BEDROOM.
NEXT YEAR WE WILL HAVE NEW STEPS (ON THE LEFT)
BUILT. WE NEED TO STRAIGHTEN A CEMENT WALL
BEHIND THEM FIRST. THE STEPS GO UP TO THE
DECK AND BACK DOOR OF THE HOUSE.

I DID FINALLY GET THE TWO NEW DOLLS DRESSED.
I'M PLEASED WITH HOW THEY CAME OUT. I HAVE
A COUPLE MORE THINGS TO FINISH BUT AM HOPING
TO HAVE A SMALL UPDATE NEXT WEEK. MORE INFO ON
THAT TO COME. HAVE A WONDERFUL AFTERNOON.

UNTIL NEXT TIME....LORI

Lori, Glad to know your husband & friend are fairing well, the Lord has been good to you all.

Things always need fixed or replaced on a home don't they? Always the next thing on the list awaits.

Looking forward to seeing your work.

Blessings & peace.

I am glad to hear things are going well, and you and Brian can enjoy the rest of the summer. Our house was built in the 70's too and poor construction, so over the years it is like we have rebuilt it;)

Hi Lori,
It's so good to hear Brian and Kathy are doing well! The days go by so quickly but the healing takes a good while it seems! Sending good thoughts and healing energies to both of them!
Projects! Around here they never end. Our house was built in 1953 and will be a continuing project I'm sure until we can no longer live here. Your new deck will be great and above all safe! You don't need a deck falling on you that's for sure!!!
Can't wait to see your dolls! I already know they are wonderful! Thank-you for your sweet and thoughtful words on my wild horses rug and blog today! Means so much to hear from friends!!
Blessings and hugs!

Can you please tell me where I can buy Baptist fan pattern to quilt my quilt?
I live in Holland.

Janny,
I got my stencils years ago from a place here in the USA. They have several sizes depending on how large your quilt is. There are different names for this quilting design and they call it Bishop's Fan. They have a website:
www.quiltingstencils.com
Hope this helps. Lori
