GOING HOME

THE DOCTOR IS RELEASING BRIAN TOMORROW MORNING. HE REQUESTED THEY GET THE BALL ROLLING YESTERDAY SO HE COULD BE RELEASED IN THE MORNING SINCE WE HAVE A 3 HOUR DRIVE HOME. WE THOUGHT THAT WAS SO THOUGHTFUL OF HIM! BRIAN IS DOING WELL BUT STILL HAS SOME WATER RETENTION ON HIS LEFT SIDE. MAKES IT HARDER FOR HIM TO TRY AND WALK WITH HIS FOOT SWOLLEN AND NUMB SO IF YOU COULD OFFER UP PRAYERS FOR THAT TO GO DOWN WE WOULD APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH. OTHERWISE HE IS DOING FANTASTIC. VERY WEAK OF COURSE AND IT WILL TAKE TIME TO BUILD HIS STAMINA UP BUT HE WILL GET THERE. IT HAS CHANGED US BOTH IN MANY WAYS, GOING THRU THIS, BUT WE HAVE A DEEPER LOVE FOR EACH OTHER AND OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. WE ARE SO GRATEFUL TO STILL BE TOGETHER. OUR LITTLE ZOE GIRL IS KENNELED 45 MILES FROM HOME BUT SHE IS DOING OK TOO. I CHECKED ON HER YESTERDAY AND THEY ARE TAKING GOOD CARE OF HER. WE HAVE NEVER KENNELED HER BEFORE AND SHE HAS ALWAYS IN THE 4-1/2 YEARS WE'VE HAD HER BEEN WITH AT LEAST ONE OF US. IT BROKE MY HEART TO LEAVE HER THERE ON THE WAY HERE A WEEK AGO TODAY. BUT I HAD NO CHOICE. NO TIME TO FIND ANOTHER WAY. I LEFT OUR HOME WITHIN AN HOUR OF BRIAN BEING LIFE FLIGHTED DOWN HERE. MY FRIEND KATHY HAD CALLED AHEAD TO THE ANIMAL HOSPITAL WHERE ZOE IS SO IT REALLY WORKED OUT BEAUTIFULLY. I KNOW SHE DOESN'T HAVE A CONCEPT OF THE TIME BUT TO US IT SEEMS FOREVER SINCE WE'VE SEEN HER. SHE WILL BE GOOD MEDICINE WHEN WE GET HOME. I PLAN TO GET BRIAN SETTLED AND THEN WORK OUT A WAY TO GET HER IN A DAY OR TWO AFTER THAT. HOME HEALTH CARE WILL BE COMING SO THAT GIVES US COMFORT. THANK YOU MY FRIENDS FOR HOLDING US UP IN YOUR PRAYERS. WE WILL NEED THEM IN THE DAYS AND WEEKS AHEAD. IT WILL BE A SLOW RECOVERY FOR BRIAN BUT WE WILL GET THERE TOGETHER. WITH MUCH LOVE AND APPRECIATION, BRIAN AND LORI

I used to work in home health and don't be afraid to ask for anything! Zoey will be thrilled to see you both and will be such good medicine for your Brian.

Lori,
Oh what wonderful news! It's so good Brian is well enough to be going home! It is a little stressful though too when you are leaving the superb medical help there in Marshfield but knowing you have home health is very comforting.
We have the same thing here with our two furry kids.... they've never been kenneled and I keep thinking what would happen if something like just happened with you folks were to occur! It's a blessing things seem to work out somehow! Keeping you in prayers and healing thoughts!
Hugs!

I am so happy you and Brian will be on your way home!! Prayers for continued recovery. Please be careful on the drive home--a 3 hour trip will be very tiring for both of you. Home care nurses are the best!! When my Brian needed one, they answered any and all questions and also stepped in when we had difficulty getting what we needed from the doctor's offices. I'm sure there will be lots of puppy kisses for both of you when Zoe gets home too!! :)--Jan

I hope that things are still going well at home and that you are getting your baby back today. What a wonderful reunion it will be. Have a relaxing weekend. -Steph-
