GOOD TUESDAY MORNING....

I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A WONDERFUL
WEEKEND. WE DID! IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE
WARMER TODAY, OVER 80 SO I HAD BETTER GET
BUSY AND GET MY CHORES DONE EARLY.

THE OLD APPLE TREE IN OUR YARD IS
FULL OF BEAUTIFUL BLOSSOMS RIGHT NOW.
I'M NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF APPLES THEY ARE
BUT THEY ARE TART AND MAKE GREAT PIES.
THAT'S OUR OLD SHED YOU CAN SEE IN
THE BACKGROUND.

SEE BIG OLE MR. BUMBLE BEE? OH, THE
BLOSSOMS SMELL SO GOOD TOO!

HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY.
UNTIL NEXT TIME......LORI

A NEW ADDITION...

TO MY LITTLE BLUE DRESS COLLECTION.
I ACQUIRED THIS LITTLE BEAUTY FROM MY GOOD
FRIEND JACKIE SCHMIDT OF T.F.C. FOLKART.
AND IT ARRIVED TODAY. THANKS JACKIE! IT'S IN
PERFECT CONDITION AND I LOVE THE LITTLE
PRINT AND SHADE OF BLUE. JACKIE DIDN'T
HAVE A PLACE FOR IT AND HOPED IT WOULD
GO TO A GOOD HOME AND I AM MOST
HAPPY TO HAVE IT ADDED TO MY LITTLE COLLECTION.

OF COURSE I HAD TO PLAY WITH MY DRESSES
AND GET JUST THE RIGHT LOOK. WITH THE
DIFFERENT SIZES IT TOOK ME A FEW MINUTES
BUT NOW I'M PLEASED WITH THE DISPLAY.
ZOE WAS WATCHING ME FROM THE BED!
THAT'S A LITTLE SCHNEEMAN ANGEL ON THE
FAR LEFT. THE TINY BLACK DOLL ON THE
LAP OF THE LARGE DOLL IN BROWN IS
ONE OF JACKIE'S ORIGINAL DOLLS. LOVE
HER TO PIECES AS WELL.

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE WALLS IN OUR
HOUSE I THINK. I LIKE ALL THE GOODIES
DISPLAYED HERE.

I RECENTLY SET OUT THIS LITTLE PILE
OF ANTIQUE FABRICS WITH BLUES IN THEM.
I'VE HAD  MOST OF THEM FOR YEARS BUT BOUGHT
A FEW MORE RECENTLY.

I JUST WANT TO MENTION OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS
GO OUT TO THOSE THAT HAVE SUSTAINED DAMAGE AND LOSS
IN THE RECENT TORNADO'S MOST ESPECIALLY IN JOPLIN, MO
BUT CERTAINLY IN ALL THE STATES AFFECTED.

UNTIL NEXT TIME......LORI

A LITTLE BIT OF PROGRESS......

I PICKED UP  THIS SAMPLER AGAIN LAST NIGHT
AND MADE A LITTLE MORE PROGRESS.
I ADDED THE BIRDS, TREES, NUMBERS AND HEART.
NOT TOO MUCH MORE TO DO NOW AND IT WILL
BE READY TO AGE AND FRAME.
SOMETIMES WHEN I'M  MAKING ONE UP I
NEED TO SET IT ASIDE FOR A BIT IF
I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO STITCH AND
MORE TIMES THAN NOT WHEN I PICK IT
UP AGAIN MY HEART AND FINGERS SEEM TO KNOW
WHAT SHOULD COME NEXT. THAT IS THE CASE
WITH THIS SAMPLER. I AM PLEASED WITH IT
THUS FAR. NEXT I WILL DECIDE ON
A NAME AND DATE. UNTIL NEXT TIME.....LORI

LITTLE BASKET RUG

JUST FINISHED HOOKING THIS
LITTLE BASKET RUG FOR MY
BASKETS ~n~ BIRDS UPDATE SOMETIME
IN JUNE. I LIKE HOW IT CAME OUT.
I USED MANY DIFFERENT SHADES OF RED
FOR THE STAR AND MANY SHADES OF MUSTARD
FOR THE BASKET FROM WOOLY WORMS LEFT
OVER FROM RUGS I'VE DONE IN THE PAST.
I HAVE LOTS OF THOSE WORMS I NEED TO START
USING UP! I STILL NEED TO BIND AND STEAM
IT BUT I WILL GET IT DONE. WISHING
ONE AND ALL A MOST LOVELY SUNDAY.

MAKING DO

I WAS THRILLED TO RECEIVE THIS
WONDERFUL MAKE~DO CHAIR FROM
PAT AT OLDE BITTERSWEET FARM TODAY.
SHE WAS SWEET ENOUGH TO DO IT FOR ME.
SHE USES ANTIQUE LADDERBACK CHAIRS.
I JUST LOVE IT. IT'S COVERED IN LINEN.
THE COLOR IS CALLED ELEPHANT. IF
YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRY ONE YOURSELF
PAT HAS KINDLY GIVEN STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
ON HER PICTURETRAIL ON HOW SHE DOES IT.

IT FITS IN OUR GUEST BEDROOM LIKE IT WAS
 MEANT TO BE THERE.

AT FIRST I WAS THINKING I WOULD PUT IT IN
OUR BEDROOM BUT I REARRANGED OUR BEDROOM
AND PUT THE COMB BACK WINDSOR CHAIR IN
THERE INSTEAD. I THINK IT WAS JUST MEANT
FOR THE BROWN/BLUE BEDROOM AS I
HAVE SEVERAL OLD WOOD PIECES IN THERE
WITH GREY PAINT. THE SAMPLER PILLOW
KATHY MADE ME AND THE ANTIQUE DOLL QUILT
I FOUND LAST SUMMER ARE RESTING ON THE CHAIR.

HERE'S WHAT I DID IN OUR BEDROOM. I SWITCHED OUT
THE BED AND RED CUPBOARD FIRST AND THEN
SOME OF THE SMALLER THINGS.

I WILL SHOW MORE IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS.
I'M HOPING TO GET A NEW BED SOON AND
I WANT TO TRY TO GET SOME MORE SMALLER
SAMPLERS DONE FOR IN HERE.

HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A GREAT WEDNESDAY!
I SURE AM....FIRST MY CHAIR CAME AND THEN
JUDY FROM A SIMPLER TIME SHOP CALLED
TO TELL ME I WON A $50. GIFT CERTIFICATE FOR
THE SHOP FROM HER ANNIVERSARY DRAWING THIS
PAST WEEKEND!! YAY!!! THANKS SO MUCH JUDY!!
I AM NOT USUALLY LUCKY ENOUGH TO WIN
DRAWINGS SO I WAS SHOCKED BY THIS NEWS
BUT VERY HAPPILY SO. UNTIL NEXT TIME....LORI

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY & SOME FINISHES

WISHING EVERYONE A WONDERFUL
MOTHER'S DAY. FUR BABIES COUNT TOO!
OUR SON SENT ME A LOVELY CARD THIS WEEK
AND CALLED THIS MORNING. AND ZOE GAVE ME
A CUTE CARD THIS MORNING TOO!
ABOVE IS MY SCHOOLHOUSE QUILT FINISHED
AND HANGING. I HUNG ONE BEHIND IT THAT
I HAD ON THE FOOT OF THE BED, ALSO A PATTERN
BY MY FRIEND CAROLE COLLINS.

I PIECED THIS DOLL SIZE STEPPING STONES
QUILT A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. IT
WILL ALSO GO IN OUR BEDROOM WHEN
I HAVE TIME TO HAND QUILT IT.

HERE IS MY MOSS SAMPLER FRAMED
AND HANGING IN OUR BEDROOM. I
AM PLEASED WITH HOW IT TURNED OUT
AND EVER SO THANKFUL FOR MY FRIEND
BILL AND HOW HE CAN WHIP UP A PINE FRAME
FOR ME AT A MOMENTS NOTICE!

BRIAN, ZOE AND I WENT ON AN OVERNIGHT TRIP
TO APPLETON, WI AREA FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
I GOT THIS WOVEN THROW BY HEIRLOOM WEAVERS
AT A SIMPLER TIME PRIMITIVES SHOP. JUDY WAS
HAVING AN ANNIVERSARY SALE THIS WEEKEND
FOR TEN YEARS OF BUSINESS. I'M NOT FOR
SURE IF THIS IS WHERE IT WILL STAY BUT
FOR NOW IT'S AT THE FOOT OF OUR BED.

ALSO WENT TO PRIMITIVE GATHERING'S QUILT
SHOP AND PICKED UP A FEW VARIOUS FABRICS
FOR DIFFERENT PROJECTS. THE ONE ON THE FAR
LEFT IS PRAIRIE CLOTH. CENTER ARE HOMESPUNS
AND ON THE RIGHT A FEW COTTON PRINTS.

I AM THINKING ABOUT TRYING TO MOVE SOME THINGS
AROUND IN OUR BEDROOM SO I'LL LET YOU KNOW HOW
IT GOES. JUST FEEL LIKE A FEW LITTLE CHANGES.

I HAVE SOME HOOKED RUGS DRAWN OUT SO
WILL BE WORKING ON THOSE THIS WEEK. ONE
IS FOR PAM AND TWO ARE FOR MY NEXT
BASKETS ~n~ BIRDS UPDATE.

UNTIL NEXT TIME....LORI

A LITTLE TIP OR TWO....

I THOUGHT I'D SHARE A COUPLE OF
LITTLE TIPS IS DO WHEN BINDING A QUILT.
THIS IS MY SCHOOLHOUSE QUILT...YAY, IT'S DONE!
AFTER I FINISH HAND QUILTING AND TAKE OUT
THE BASTING STITCHES I LEAVE THE BASTING AROUND
THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF THE QUILT IN UNTIL I HAVE
THE BINDING SEWN ON. IT KEEPS THE QUILT SQUARE
AND DOESN'T ALLOW IT TO STRETCH OUT OF SHAPE.

HERE I'M DOING A CONTINUOUS BINDING.
ANOTHER LITTLE THING I DO IS PRESS ONE
LONG SIDE OF MY BINDING OVER A QUARTER INCH
BEFORE SEWING TO THE QUILT
SO THAT WHEN IT'S ON THE QUILT AND I FOLD IT
TO THE BACK TO HAND STITCH DOWN I HAVE A
NICE CREASE ALREADY THERE TO HAND STITCH.

HERE YOU CAN SEE THE BINDING IS ON
AND NOW I CAN PULL OUT THE BASTING STITCHES
AND I'M READY TO SEW DOWN MY BINDING.

I'D LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THE KIND
REMARKS ABOUT THE PN PIECE I SHOWED ON
MY LAST POST. I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS
AND EMAILS. I HAVE STARTED SOME OTHER GOODIES
AND WILL BE WORKING ON THEM ALONG THE WAY THIS MONTH.
PAM, IF YOU SEE THIS DON'T WORRY!! I'M WORKING
ON YOUR RUG TOO!!!

I DID GET MY ZILPHA MOSS SAMPLER IN THE FRAME
AND HANGING. THE SCHOOLHOUSE QUILT IS
HANGING NEXT TO IT.  I WILL SAVE THAT FOR ANOTHER
POST I THINK. I PIECED ANOTHER SMALL QUILT
A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO THAT I WILL HAND
QUILT FOR LAYERING ON MY WALL RACK SO I'LL
SHOW THAT TO YOU ALSO.

THAT'S IT FOR NOW. HAVE A LOVELY DAY
AND UNTIL NEXT TIME.....LORI

TO BE OFFERED....

GOOD DAY! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT IS MAY ALREADY?!
WE HAVE JUST OVER 40 DEGREES HERE TODAY
AND LOOKING LIKE RAIN. I THINK WE MAY
GO RIGHT FROM WINTER TO SUMMER BUT
AT LEAST THE GRASS IS GETTING GREENER AND
I SEE SOME BUDS ON THE TREES AND A LITTLE
GROWTH IN THE FLOWER BEDS.

ABOVE IS A PUNCH NEEDLE PIECE
I CAME UP WITH RECENTLY. IT WILL
BE MADE INTO A CUPBOARD HANGER
FOR MY NEXT UPDATE WHICH I
AM CALLING BASKETS ~n~ BIRDS AND
AM PLANNING TO HAVE IT SOME TIME
IN JUNE. I HAVE LOTS OF IDEAS OF THINGS
TO MAKE WITH A BIRD, BASKET OR BOTH.
I'LL BE GIVING YOU SOME PEEKS ALONG
THE WAY. HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVELY DAY.
UNTIL NEXT TIME.....LORI
