WILD FLOWERS AND WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING!
I TOOK SOME PICTURES OF SOME WILD ROSES
THAT GROW BEHIND OUR HOUSE SO THOUGHT
I'D SHARE THEM.  THEY ARE SO PRETTY.

THIS IS OUR CONCRETE BACK STEPS.
I MEANT TO PAINT THEM LAST YEAR AND NEVER
GOT TO IT SO I DETERMINED I WOULD THIS YEAR
FOR SURE! I GOT SOME PAINT BEFORE THE
HEATWAVE HIT US AND AM I EVER GLAD
I GOT IT DONE! WHEW! I'D NEVER DO IT IN
THIS HEAT. BUT WHAT A DIFFERENCE A COUPLE
OF COATS OF PAINT CAN MAKE.
THIS IS BEFORE.

AND THIS IS AFTER.

THIS ISN'T A VERY GOOD PHOTO CUZ ALL
THE BLINDS HAVE BEEN DRAWN FOR DAYS, BUT
THIS IS MY GREAT NIECE SKYLAR WHO
IS VISITING RIGHT NOW. THIS IS THE OUTFIT
SHE PICKED OUT FOR HERSELF FOR HER
B~DAY GIFT. SHE INFORMED ME THAT SHE LIKES
TO PUT TOGETHER THINGS THAT WOULDN'T OCCUR
TO SOMEONE ELSE. SHE IS VERY HAPPY WITH
HER OUTFIT BUT IT MADE ME HOT JUST LOOKING
AT ALL THE LAYERS! LOL WE ARE HITTING THE
LAKE SOON.  GOING TO BE 88 TODAY. I TAKE HER
BACK TOMORROW SO I WANT HER TO GET A SWIM
IN. WE LIVE CLOSE TO SEVERAL LAKES.
HOPE YOU ARE ALL KEEPING COOL.
UNTIL NEXT TIME....LORI

Your flowers are beautiful Lori. And it's AMAZING what a difference a coat of paint or two can make. That's awesome. Your niece is lovely. Love the colors in her outfit. Pink and purple are two of my faves too. But hot, whew!! I hope you get some cool rain sometime soon!

I love Skylar's fashion sense! I really like when kids don't follow a trend, but create their own. Good for her!

The steps look marvelous. Those roses look like antique roses. Were they always in your yard. I love the history of old roses and love it when they survive through the years. I bet they smell wonderful!

Courtney,
The roses are actually in the woods bordering the edge of our back yard. Yes, they were here when we bought the house in 1985. There are wild raspberries in amongst them. They will be ready soon.

Good Morning Lori :) Your niece is a cutie.

You have me inspired to maybe paint our front steps. Plain ol' concrete is boring. You have done wonders on your porch! Guess paint is now on my ever growing list.

It's amazing what a little paint can do! The stoop looks terrific.
Skylar is a cutie. How nice you make time to spend with her. I'm sure she has memories she will cherish for a lifetime!

Hi Lori,
I sure hope it has cooled down a bit for you!! Heat and humidity are my worst enemies!!
I had some antique roses in my yard at one time and they look just like the ones your shared...and they smelled DIVINE!!
Your niece reminds me of my daughter (at that age) and she had a very good sense of style and self...so wonderful to see! She is a darling!
The steps look FANTASTIC!! LOVE that RED!! Great job!
Take care and I would love to have you stop by my blog for my Giveaway!
Hugs and Blessings~~

Dear blog friends,
I am trying to put together a bloggers board.
This board would contain the name of the blog, the first name of the author ( last name, if you allow ) and birthday-- month and day only.
Once I get this put together, I will email to all participants.
If you know of others who would like to be listed, please give them my email address so I can add them.
I just think it would be handy to know when our friends birthdays are so we can send them our best wishes.
Those of you who have not yet sent me your address, please do. These will not be part of the blog board, but for my own personal address book. I like to send cards now and then.
