JUNE UPDATE OFFERINGS

I'VE BEEN WORKING HARD ON SEVERAL NEW
ITEMS FOR MY JUNE UPDATE. I LOVE HOW THIS
LITTLE BIRD PILLOW TURNED OUT FROM A
BOOK BY RENEE PLAINS. THE MACHE COVERED
BOX WILL COME WITH THE WOOL STRAWBERRIES AND OLD KEY INSIDE.
I HAVE SEVEN DOLLS TO OFFER THIS TIME. I GOT A NEW
PATTERN FROM THE SCHNEEMAN'S CALLED
DOLLHOUSE DOLLS AND THEY COME IN TWO SIZES.
THE OTHER DOLL PATTERN IS CALLED TUCKER
DOLLS BY CATHERINE DOUGLAS MAHONE.
I'VE DONE TWO IN THE ORIGINAL SIZE AND ONE ENLARGED SIZE.

REMEMBER THAT ANTIQUE DOLL QUILT I SHOWED IN AN
EARLIER POST? THIS IS MY VERSION OF IT. IT WILL BE
OFFERED FOR SALE AS WELL. I'M PLEASED WITH
HOW IT CAME OUT. I MADE UP MY OWN LITTLE
TUMBLER TEMPLATE.

THIS SWEET LITTLE DOLL BED IS FROM A PATTERN
BY LITTLE QUILTS AND WAS MADE BY MY
FRAME AND FURNITURE MAKING FRIEND BILL.
I MADE THE TICKING MATTRESS OUT OF OLD TICKING
IN RED AND BLUE. THE BED IS CRANBERRY RED BUT
LOOKS BRIGHTER IN THE PICTURE. IT'S STRUNG WITH
JUTE FOR A LITTLE ROPE BED LOOK. PERFECT FOR A DOLL
OR DOLLS TO SIT OR LAY ON.

THIS IS AN ORIGINAL ANTIQUE DOLL QUILT
FROM THE 1920/30's. IT'S MACHINE PIECED AND MACHINE QUILTED.
IT HAS A PRINT FEED SACK
BACKING. IT'S NOT A PIECE FROM A LARGER QUILT BUT
ACTUALLY MADE FROM SCRATCH AS A DOLL QUILT. THERE ARE A COUPLE SMALL HOLES IN IT.
I'LL ALSO BE OFFERING THE LITTLE BROWN COURTHOUSE STEPS
QUILT INSPIRED BY AN ANTIQUE QUILT I SHOWED IN
AN EARLIER POST.
MY UPDATE WILL BE THIS TUESDAY, JUNE 29th, AT 9:00 am CENTRAL TIME.
THE LINK TO MY PICTURETRAIL IS ON THE UPPER LEFT.
I'LL BE CLOSING THE FOR SALE ALBUM TO GET IT READY FOR
TUESDAY. AT THAT TIME YOU WILL NOT NEED A PASSWORD TO
SEE MY OFFERINGS. I HOPE YOU CAN JOIN ME THEN. HAVE
A GREAT WEEKEND. LORI

VISITNG WITH FAMILY

LAST WEEK I HAD TWO OF MY GREAT NIECES COME
FOR A VISIT. FIRST I HAD MARISSA. SHE WILL BE NINE
IN AUGUST AND IS AN EXCEPTIONAL HULA HOOPER!
I NEVER COULD DO THAT WHEN I WAS A KID!!

HERE'S MARISSA WITH ZOE. THEY GOT ALONG VERY WELL
AND IT WAS GOOD FOR ZOE TO HAVE SOME COMPANY.

MID WEEK I TOOK MARISSA TO MY AUNT PAT'S HOUSE
WHERE WE MET UP WITH MY TWO SISTERS AND I SWITCHED
NIECES AND BROUGHT SKYLAR HOME WITH ME. THIS IS
FROM LEFT TO RIGHT....LOIS, LINDA, AUNT PAT AND ME!
AUNT PAT HAD HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY RECENTLY
AND SHE IS DOING FAMOUSLY! SHE LOOKS REALLY GOOD!
LOVE YOU AUNT PAT!!
MARISSA AND SKYLAR ARE LINDA'S GRANDS.

HERE IS SKYLAR ON MY BACK DECK. SHE WILL BE 11 IN JULY
AND I BOUGHT HER THIS OUTFIT FOR AN EARLY BIRTHDAY
GIFT. THIS IS THE THIRD YEAR SKYLAR HAS COME AND THE FIRST
FOR MARISSA.

ZOE AND SKYLAR. THEY GET ALONG VERY WELL ALSO.
ZOE IS TIRED FROM ALL THE ACTIVITY AND PLAY BUT
I THINK SHE IS MISSING THE GIRLS.

WHEN SKYLAR AND I WERE OUT IN THE YARD I HEARD A
SQUEAK LIKE ONE OF ZOE'S TOYS AND REALIZED I ACCIDENTALLY
STEPPED ON A WILD BABY BUNNY NESTLED IN THE GRASS!
I FELT TERRIBLE BUT IT DIDN'T SEEM HURT AS IT
HOPPED OFF AND HUDDLED NEXT TO MY LITTLE
GARDEN FENCE. IT STAYED THERE FOR SOME TIME.
WE CHECKED ON IT LATER AND IT WAS GONE.
THERE WERE TWO OF THEM IN MY FRONT FLOWER BEDS. THEY
WERE ONLY ABOUT FOUR INCHES LONG.

I TOOK SKYLAR BACK HOME ON SATURDAY AND STAYED FOR
FATHER'S DAY. ZOE AND I CAME HOME YESTERDAY AND ON
THE WAY I STOPPED AT AN ANTIQUES SHOP.
BOY, AM I GLAD I DID AS I FOUND THIS PERFECT
ANTIQUE DOLL QUILT IN BROWN AND SHIRTINGS.
IT'S IN MINT CONDITION. IT LOOKS
LIKE IT'S MACHINE PIECED AND HAND QUILTED.
I WOULD DATE THE FABRICS TO THE 1800'S. I PAID $25. FOR IT!!

LOOK AT THOSE YUMMY BROWN FABRICS AND SHIRTINGS!!
IT WILL GO IN THE BROWN BEDROOM. IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS
FOR SURE!! IF I CAN FIND SOME SIMILAR REPRODUCTION BROWNS
I'LL TRY TO DUPLICATE IT SOME DAY FOR SALE.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK. I'LL BE POSTING A PICTURE ON THE WEEKEND OF MY UPDATE GOODIES. I'M STILL TRYING
TO FINISH UP SOME THINGS. LOTS OF DOLLS THIS TIME. LORI

GIFTS AND PURCHASE

I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE SUCH GOOD FRIENDS.
MY LONG DISTANCE FRIEND CHRIS (MYSTICALPRIMITIVES ON EBAY)
SENT ME THIS WONDERFUL BOX OF GOODIES FOR
A SWAP WE ARE DOING RIGHT NOW.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE EVERYTHING BUT MY HEART
TURNED OVER WHEN I SAW THE PUNCH NEEDLE
RENDITION CHRIS DID OF OUR LITTLE ZOE GIRL!!
I'VE PLACED IT IN A SPECIAL PLACE IN OUR BEDROOM ON
A LITTLE REPRODUCTION CHILD SIZE WINDSOR CHAIR. I AM
AMAZED AT THE TALENT CHRIS HAS WITH HER PUNCH NEEDLE!
THANK YOU SO MUCH CHRIS FOR THIS VERY SPECIAL BOX
OF GOODIES.

THIS IS A SPECIAL GIFT FROM MY FRIEND KATHY FOR
A RECENT BIRTHDAY. KATHY DID THIS WOOL FLOWER APPLIQUE
FROM A MAGGIE B BOOK FOR ME ON A
SOLID BROWN TOWEL. I JUST LOVE
THE WOOLS SHE USED! THANK YOU DEAR
KATHY FOR MY WONDERFUL GIFTS. SHE ALSO
GAVE ME TWO BOOKS. ONE IS THE NEWEST BOOK
BY RENEE PLAINS CALLED A BIRD IN HAND. I'VE
BEEN WANTING THIS BOOK FOR SOME TIME BUT
HADN'T BOUGHT IT YET. I'VE DONE A PROJECT OUT
OF IT ALREADY FOR MY NEXT UPDATE WHICH I'LL
BE GIVING A PEAK OF IN A LITTLE OVER A WEEK.
THE OTHER BOOK IS CALLED THE SAMPLER MOTIF BOOK
BY BRENDA KEYES AND IS AN OLDER READER'S DIGEST
BOOK FROM THE 1990's. IT'S FULL OF GREAT SAMPLERS AND IDEAS.

LASTLY I WAS ABLE TO VISIT MY FRIEND MARIA BARTON
OF STAR RUG COMPANY THIS PAST WEEKEND FOR A SHORT TIME.
I GOT TO SEE ALL HER RUGS IN PERSON THAT SHE
DID FOR THE CLASS SHE TAUGHT RECENTLY IN TEXAS.
I JUST LOVE HER TUMBLIN DOWN PUMPKINS SO I BOUGHT
THAT RUG HOOKING PATTERN AND A NICE STACK
OF WOOL FAT QUARTERS IN MUTED SHADES. MOST COULD
WORK IN THE PUMPKIN PATTERN SO I THINK I WILL BE
USING THEM IN THERE. I ALWAYS ENJOY SEEING MARIA'S RUGS
IN PERSON. THEY ARE SO INSPIRING AND I JUST LOVE
THE COLORS SHE USES. THAT'S IT FOR NOW. HAVE A GREAT WEEK.

SOME CHANGES

I'VE MADE A FEW LITTLE CHANGES IN THE BROWN BEDROOM.
THIS IS BEFORE.
WHEN WE PAINTED THE WALLS BROWN A FEW
YEARS AGO I MADE ALL THE MACHE BOXES WITH
BLUE FABRICS TO STACK ON TOP OF THE CUBBY
TO HAVE SOMETHING WITH HEIGHT UNTIL I
DECIDED WHAT TO PUT ABOVE THE CUBBY.
THIS IS AFTER.
I DECIDED TO HANG THE HEART & BIRD RUG OVER THE CUBBY
BUT THEN THE BOXES WERE STACKED SO HIGH
IT COVERED SOME OF THE RUG SO I HAD TO TAKE
A FEW OFF. I ALSO STITCHED A NEW SAMPLER
FOR NEXT TO THE CUPBOARD. I WANTED A LONGER
SAMPLER INSTEAD OF THE TWO SMALL STITCHERIES.
DO YOU THINK IT WAS A GOOD CHANGE?

THIS IS THE NEWEST SAMPLER. IT'S ANNA DILLINGHAM BY
JENNY HOFFMAN OF COUNTRY RUSTIC PRIMITIVES.
I LOVE STITCHING JENNY'S PATTERNS. THE AGING
I DID ON IT LOOKS BETTER IN PERSON.

AND WHILE I WAS BUSY HANGING, ZOE WAS BUSY
TAKING A SNOOZE WITH MY DOLLS ON THE BED!
WHAT A GOOD LITTLE HELPER SHE IS!!
UNTIL NEXT TIME......LORI

LITTLE ANTIQUE QUILT INSPIRATIONS

I LOVE TO LOOK FOR LITTLE ANTIQUE DOLL QUILTS
FOR INSPIRATION. SOMETIMES I MIGHT
TRY TO COME AS CLOSELY AS I CAN TO REPLICATING THE
ORIGINAL ANTIQUE QUILT AND
SOMETIMES I WILL DO MY INTERPRETATION OF A PIECE.
THIS LITTLE ONE PATCH IS MY INTERPRETATION OF
THE ANTIQUE VERSION ABOVE. IT'S FOR SALE ON MY
PICTURETRAIL AT THIS TIME.

I LOVE HOW BLUES AND BROWNS LOOK TOGETHER
AND THIS LITTLE QUILT REALLY CAUGHT MY EYE.
I ALMOST DID JUST THE TWO BLOCKS BUT DECIDED
TO DO FOUR INSTEAD.

THIS IS MY VERSION WITH THE FOUR BLOCKS. IT'S ALSO
FOR SALE ON MY PICTURETRAIL AT THIS TIME.

THIS LITTLE ONE BLOCK COURTHOUSE STEPS
QUILT TUGGED AT MY HEARTSTRINGS
AS SOON AS I SAW IT.

THIS IS MY VERSION. IT WILL BE FOR SALE ON MY
PICTURETRAIL WITH MY NEXT UPDATE. I'M HOPING
TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE LATE JUNE.

THIS LITTLE ANTIQUE GEM IS NEXT ON MY LIST
TO TRY TO REPLICATE I THINK. I LOVE
THE TONE OF THE FABRICS IN THIS LITTLE TUMBLER.
MAYBE I'LL HAVE IT READY FOR MY NEXT UPDATE AS WELL.
I'LL SEE WHAT TIME ALLOWS. HAPPY STITCHING OR CREATING
IN WHATEVER MEDIUM TUGS AT YOUR HEARTSTRINGS! LORI
