FAREWELL MOTHER RIPPEY

MY MOTHER IN LAW DOROTHY RIPPEY PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY
AFTERNOON AT THE AGE OF 91. I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR
A BETTER MOTHER IN LAW. SHE WAS A GREAT BLESSING TO
ME IN MY LIFE. I LOST MY OWN MOTHER WHEN IN MY 30'S AND IT WAS SUCH A BLESSING TO HAVE ANOTHER MOTHER IN MY LIFE.
ALTHOUGH WE LIVED SEVERAL STATES
AWAY AND DIDN'T SEE BRIAN'S PARENTS AS OFTEN AS WE
WOULD HAVE LIKED, SHE WAS A GREAT INFLUENCE ON MY LIFE.
A FAITHFUL FOLLOWER OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST,
SHE WORKED TIRELESSLY FOR THE LORD.
SHE WAS BORN DECEMBER 21, 1918 AND MARRIED DAD
MARCH 15, 1942. THEY RAISED SIX CHILDREN, TWO BOYS AND FOUR GIRLS.
SHE WAS A NURSE AND WORKED FOR MANY YEARS IN THAT FIELD.

ABOVE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PHOTOS OF MOM AND BRIAN.
THIS IS BRIAN AND HIS YOUNGEST SISTER GLENDA, WHOM MOM
HAS LIVED WITH SINCE DADS PASSING IN 2001.

MOM VISITING WITH BRIAN AND HIS OLDEST SISTER RUTH
LABOR DAY WEEKEND 2010.
FROM AN OLD HYMN:
ABIDE WITH ME; FAST FALLS THE EVENTIDE. THE DARKNESS
DEEPENS: LORD, WITH ME ABIDE.
I FEAR NO FOE WITH THEE AT HAND TO BLESS;
ILLS HAVE NO WEIGHT, AND TEARS NO BITTERNESS.
WHERE IS DEATH'S STING? WHERE, GRAVE, THY VICTORY?
I TRIUMPH STILL IF THOU ABIDE WITH ME. AMEN
FAREWELL SWEET MOTHER, FAREWELL.

So sorry Lori for your loss. But she's rejoicing in heaven now. You will see her again one day.
Lovely post, and I just love the old pictures. It sounds just like my relationship with my mil. She helped me grow so much. I was 31 when I lost my mom.
Know that prayers are being lifted for you and Brian to find comfort in these times.
