KATHY'S HANDWORK

I VISITED MY BEST FRIEND KATHY TODAY AND
I THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SEE SOME OF
HER HANDWORK. SHE IS A VERY TALENTED
NEEDLEWOMAN. THIS QUILT
HANGS IN HER HALLWAY AND IS DONE IN HAND
APPLIQUE AND HAND QUILTED. I STITCHED
THE SAMPLER.
THIS PIECE IS ALL WOOL APPLIQUE. SHE DID
THE BUTTONHOLE STITCH ON ALL OF IT.
HER STITCHES ARE PERFECTION! IT MIGHT LOOK
LIKE ORANGE BUT IT'S REDS ON THE FLOWERS AND
PENNIES.

HERE IT IS HANGING IN A CORNER IN HER DINING ROOM.
NOTICE THE HOOKED RUG ON THE OTHER WALL.

HERE IS A FOUR PATCH QUILT SHE MACHINE PIECED
AND HAND QUILTED SEVERAL YEARS AGO.
DON'T YOU LOVE THAT LOOOONG BENCH AND WHAT SHE
HAS ON IT?

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PATTERNS. I HAVE YET TO DO IT.
IT'S IPSWICH BY EDYTH O'NEILL. KATHY HAS
THIS HANGING IN HER LIVING ROOM.

I HAVE SEVERAL SAMPLERS TO SHARE THAT SHE
HAS STITCHED. I'LL SHOW YOU MORE SOON.
A BIG THANK YOU TO KATHY FOR LETTING
ME SHARE A BIT OF HER HOME AND
WORKS OF HER HANDS. ENJOY! LORI

WOW! Loved seeing her home and I'm looking forward to more pictures! I looked at the picture of her quilt for the longest time trying to figure out how she made it, and I think the must have appliqued the muslin wedges onto the pieced blocks, right? She does beautiful work! Does she have a blog? Maybe you can talk her in to starting one!

The first quilt pictured is awesome!!! Beautiful colors and pattern. The wool appliques and hooked rugs are gorgeous! What a beautiful home your friend, Kathy has. Thank you for the pictures.

Gayle,
yes the solid curved pieces are appliqued to squares. the design is by Linda Brannock. It's called Squint Your Eyes and is found in Miss Jump's Memories.
Kathy doesn't have a blog or website and at this time has no interest in that. Sorry! Maybe she will let me share other projects in the future. I'm glad you are all enjoying seeing a bit of her wonderful work. Lori
