MADE IT TO REHAB!

BRIAN WAS MOVED TO ACUTE REHAB IN WAUSAU, WI ON TUESDAY.  WE LIKE THE FACILITY AND STAFF.  I THINK IT WILL BE A VERY BENEFICIAL TIME FOR BOTH OF US.  I CAME HOME YESTERDAY TO START GETTING THINGS GOING AT HOME.  A TENTATIVE DATE FOR RELEASE FROM REHAB IS DECEMBER 15th.  WE MAY NOT HAVE EVERYTHING IN PLACE AT THE HOUSE BUT WE WILL FIGURE IT OUT AS WE GO ALONG.  I AM GOING TO PICK UP OUR LITTLE ZOE GIRL TODAY.  WE DROPPED HER OFF AT THE KENNEL 36 DAYS AGO.  I HAVE TO DRIVE ALMOST AN HOUR TO GET HER.  IT’S AN HOUR IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OR I WOULD HAVE PICKED HER UP ON THE WAY HOME YESTERDAY.  SHE AND I WILL BE GOING BACK TO WAUSAU NEXT WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.  THEY DO ALLOW PETS THERE SO I CAN BRING HER INTO THE REHAB AND I HAVE A PET FRIENDLY MOTEL BOOKED FOR US ALREADY.  THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF THE PRAYERS AND WELL WISHES.  WE FINALLY SEE A LIGHT AT THE END OF THIS  VERY LONG TUNNEL.  WE KNOW THERE WILL BE A LOT OF ADJUSTMNETS ALONG THE WAY BUT WE WILL CONTINUE TO RELY ON THE LORD FOR HIS STRENGTH AND COURAGE TO FORGE AHEAD.  THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT WE THREE WILL BE TOGETHER.  HOW THANKFUL WE ARE.

I WAS ABLE TO STITCH SOME NEW DESIGNS I HAD BROUGHT ALONG FOR WHEN BRIAN WAS RECOVERING IN THE HOSPITAL AND I’LL BE WORKING ON GETTING THEM TOGETHER AND RELEASED IN A WEEK OR TWO.  I HAVE FIVE NEW CROSS STITCH PATTERNS AND POSSIBLY A NEW PUNCH NEEDLE PATTERN.

THANKSGIVING BLESSINGS TO ALL, LORI

GETTING THERE.....

EVERY DAY BRIAN IS A LITTLE BIT STRONGER.  HE HAS MANY MONTHS OF RECOVERING FROM THE SURGERY ITSELF BUT EACH DAY IS A BLESSING.  HIS SURGERY WAS 4 WEEKS AGO YESTERDAY.  HOW FAR HE HAS COME.  THEY SAY HE CAN GO TO ACUTE REHAB ON TUESDAY.  WE ARE BOTH OVERJOYED AT THIS AND LOOK FORWARD TO BEING HALF THE DISTANCE FROM HOME THAN WE ARE DOWN HERE.  PLUS IT’S ENCOURAGING TO GET TO THE NEXT STEP ON THIS JOURNEY.  I’M HOPING I CAN GET OUR LITTLE ZOE NEXT WEEK BUT HAVE TO SEE AFTER WE GET TO REHAB AND KNOW MORE ABOUT WHAT ALL THAT ENTAILS.  WE WON’T KNOW UNTIL THEY ASSESS JUST HOW LONG BRIAN WILL BE THERE.  I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT NEEDS ADJUSTING AT THE HOUSE AND TRY TO GET STARTED ON THAT SO I’LL BE GOING BACK AND FORTH.  WE HAVE NO FAMILY CLOSE SO WILL RELY ON OUR DEAR FRIENDS WHEN WE NEED TO.  MANY HAVE OFFERED TO HELP.  WE THANK EACH ONE FOR YOUR CONTINUED PRAYERS AND WELL WISHES.  WE PRAY THE LORD CAN USE THIS TRIAL IN OUR LIVES FOR HIS GLORY.  HE IS EVER FAITHFUL AND OUR HEARTS OVERFLOW WITH JOY AND THANKSGIVING.  LOVE AND BLESSINGS, LORI

A GOOD DAY.....

Brian was brought to a regular room at about 5:30 this morning. I had to find him when I arrived at 8. It’s a nice room and he is happy with it. He is doing so much better and was more himself today than since we started this journey. He’d been having trouble with confusion at times but today was a very good day. They are keeping their eyes on a few things but he is stable. He is weak and shaky but we will get there. I have no idea yet how long he will be here but he is ok with staying until he is stronger. I hope to scoot home some time next week to take care of some things just for a couple of nights. I want to make sure he is ok for a few days yet. Thank you for remembering us and praying every day. I can’t tell you how much we are comforted and I know the Lord has blessed us. Praise Him! Blessings, Lori

WE ARE BLESSED

Our prayers have been answered. Brian is doing well. No more gastro bleeding since his last scope on Monday. He was alert and more himself today than he has been since the surgery. He can leave ICU when they have a bed available. His kidneys are starting to do their job so that is another blessing. Prayerfully he can get on with the healing process and get out of here. Thank you to all for your constant prayers, kind comments and support. We are ever grateful. Blessings, Lori

NEED MIGHTY PRAYERS....

Monday October 30th~ Today was a rough day.  Brian developed a gastro bleed.  They went in with a scope and cauterized it yesterday morning but this morning he had a bleed again.  He is back in ICU where they did another scope and cauterized it again.  It’s the same area.  They will watch over the next several hours and if it bleeds again they will have to do a more invasive procedure to make it stop.  Please pray it will stop now so no further procedure will be needed.  I am alone here right now and need prayers for strength and courage to do what I need to for him.  Our son Scott was here over the weekend but left yesterday when things looked ok.  I think this is just a bump in the road but it’s making a difficult recovery all the harder.  Thank you so much for your mighty prayers.  Blessings, Lori
